A classic refreshing whiskey cocktail. Always perfect for a hot summer afternoon. This is best served on the rocks, though it can be served on a single rock as well.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Makers Mark bourbon
  • 1 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • 3-4 leaves mint smashed
  • 1 sprig mint

Instructions

  • Combine the bourbon, lemon juice, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker. Smash the mint leaves with your hands and add to the shaker. Fill halfway with ice and shake vigorously.
  • Pour the drink with the ice into an old-fashioned or manhattan glass. Garnish with the sprig of mint and serve.
