A classic refreshing whiskey cocktail. Always perfect for a hot summer afternoon. This is best served on the rocks, though it can be served on a single rock as well.

Ingredients
 

  • 2 oz (56.7 ml) Makers Mark bourbon
  • 1 oz (28.3 ml) freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 oz (28.3 ml) simple syrup
  • 3-4 leaves (3-4 leaves ) mint, smashed
  • 1 sprig (1 sprig) mint

Instructions

  • Combine the bourbon, lemon juice, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker. Smash the mint leaves with your hands and add to the shaker. Fill halfway with ice and shake vigorously.
  • Pour the drink with the ice into an old-fashioned or manhattan glass. Garnish with the sprig of mint and serve.
